Company History:

Studio Vertu began as an Art Gallery in Cincinnati. As with many businesses, this one went through many changes. The gallery, called Vertu, closed in 1994 and Mark Schmidt, owner of Studio Vertu, began the process of working on "what's next?"

Studio Vertu then formed into a design studio seeking clients whose needs included wall art and accessories. In a short time Mark developed what is now our patented "Fresco Tile"™. With this development, Studio Vertu began creating murals made with a Fresco look. One of our first clients was The NFL Headquarters in New York City. This mural consists of 396 tiles and is still our largest single mural project. The dream had begun to materialize.

Mark began working on other items and materials. In the spring of 1995 the Studio Vertu Italian Marble Coaster was introduced. We began with an impressive 10 sets of coasters. Soon, the 8" marble tile and magnets were added to round off the collection.

In the past 11 years, Studio Vertu has gone from a small company with 50 customers to a company with 25 employees and 3,500 customers in 13 countries. Our collection has expanded to over 300 different sets of coasters, clocks, magnets, a variety of framing options, journals, glass plates and more. We license images from Deborah Schenck, Paula Scaletta and Mark Durham.

Today, Studio Vertu is consistently working on new and different products to add to our line. Our goal is to provide our customers with a high quality product and highly trained sales and support staff to service them. Studio Vertu, established in 1995, is proud to be the "original" – all others are just an imitation!
